Brandon’s story needs to be told, to prevent this type of tragedy from happening to others, and to punish the person directly charged, and responsible for his death.  The Truth About Brandon is a forum to share, interact, and help one another learn to deal with and prevent untimely deaths of young teens.   The arrest warrant affadavit  will tell you the story of how Brandon died and how his mother was directly to blame. Please, please, read it, it will shock you. You will be left asking yourself the question, how can an adult, a mother of a child, be so negligent in causing her own son’s death and then leave him in the back of a car.  And why is that person only charged with 3 counts of risk of injury to a minor. Risk of injury??  Let us remind you - Brandon is dead, not injured and she didn't risk his death, she caused it.

Heather should be charged with numerous counts of risk of injury. Three counts of risk of injury (ROI) for each child she allowed to drink alcohol in her home (Chris, Travis, and Brandon), another ROI for allowing Brandon to remove her prescription medication from her possession. ROI for sleeping in the same bed as Chris as first reported. I don't believe there was anything sexual going on, but it is illegal to sleep in the same bed as a minor that is not your child (especially of the opposite sex). ROI for allowing Brandon to drive her car to go pick up his friend Travis. ROI for leaving Brandon in the backseat of her car after knowing he had been drinking. ROI for knowing Brandon was drinking and mixing prescription drugs and NOT calling anyone to help him. Does that sound like risk of injury?  Why not Manslaughter 2??  Her reckless behavior caused the death of another person.  And all that she received was one risk of injury charge for all of her reckless actions stated above.   Is this a person that should only receive 3 ROI charges or should  there be more penalty involved?  Read the affidavit  and then ask yourself, is this a person that should avoid jail time?  She gave Brandon beer and vodka, allowed him to take her morphine and then had the power to save him... by calling the authorities for help - yet she did NOTHING.
